Etsy Shop Setup Checklist

Use this checklist before opening your Etsy shop and again before promoting it. Etsy’s exact onboarding requirements vary by location and may change, so treat the items marked “as requested” as requirements to verify in your own account.

☐ I have a simple plan to monitor visits, conversion, customer questions, and sales.

    Country-specific reminder

Payment methods, seller eligibility, taxes, and onboarding requirements vary by country. For example, Etsy’s current India guidance describes GSTIN verification and Payoneer onboarding for new sellers. Check the official country-specific guidance rather than relying on an old checklist or another seller’s experience.
