Shop analysis is a way to understand how competing sellers position their products, organize their catalog, and communicate value. Use it to identify patterns and market gaps—not to copy a shop’s artwork, copywriting, photographs, brand, or protected designs.
1. Choose relevant competitors
Select shops serving a similar audience, product format, price band, or occasion. A high-volume shop selling a different kind of product may not be a useful benchmark. Compare several shops to avoid overreacting to one seller’s style or apparent success.
2. Use Enlistra Shop Analysis
Enlistra workflow: Enter the shop or use the Shop Analysis workflow available in your Enlistra account. Review displayed information about shop positioning, catalog patterns, visible listing signals, and available metrics. Check the metric definitions and data timestamps before drawing conclusions, and distinguish direct observations from estimates.
3. Compare the right dimensions
- Shop positioning: target buyer, product range, style, and promise.
- Catalog structure: best-represented categories, related products, and variations.
- Listing quality: primary images, titles, details, pricing, and presentation.
- Customer feedback: recurring strengths or complaints in public reviews.
- Differentiation: what makes the offer distinct, if anything.
- Visible data quality: sample size, missing values, and collection date.
4. Turn observations into original actions
For example, if several customers ask about sizing, you could improve your own size chart. If similar shops serve a broad audience, you might build a product for a narrower audience. The goal is to solve a real problem in your own way, not reproduce a competitor’s listing.
5. Do not overinterpret shop metrics
Public listing counts, favorites, reviews, and research estimates do not automatically reveal verified sales or profit. A shop’s performance may depend on its age, customer base, products, advertising, and other factors you cannot observe. Avoid presenting estimated revenue as exact unless the data source and method are explicitly reliable.
