Keyword research helps you describe a product in the language buyers use. Enlistra can help you explore phrase ideas and compare research signals, but keywords should be selected for relevance and buyer intent—not simply because a metric looks high.
1. Describe the product accurately
Write down the object, audience, purpose, style, material or format, recipient, and occasion. For example, “editable weekly meal planner for families” is more informative than “planner.” This seed description becomes the basis for researching phrase variations.
2. Research with Enlistra
- Open Enlistra Keyword Research and enter a focused seed phrase.
- Review related terms and candidate phrases, where available.
- Compare different phrase types: broad category, specific use case, recipient, style, and occasion.
- Record search, competition, or trend signals only with their displayed definitions and data context.
- Create a shortlist that matches the actual product and likely buyer intent.
3. Validate before using a phrase
Search the phrase on Etsy and inspect the results. Are shoppers looking for the item you sell? Are competing listings relevant? Would a buyer feel the listing delivers what the phrase promises? If a term is popular but describes another product type, leave it out. Cross-platform interest can be useful context, but it does not prove Etsy-specific demand.
4. Apply keywords naturally
- Put the clearest product description near the beginning of the title.
- Use all relevant tag opportunities available for the listing, with distinct and accurate phrases.
- Choose the most specific category and applicable attributes.
- Use the description to explain the product fully and naturally.
- Do not repeat phrases unnaturally or include unrelated trending terms.
5. Maintain a research record
Save the date, seed phrase, promising variations, rationale, and listing where each phrase is used. Revisit the shortlist as products, seasonality, and market conditions change. Do not assume every phrase has exact measured search volume unless the tool explicitly documents that data source and definition.
